See what you miss when you move from the "center"? I just picked up on the TripAdvisor Florence forum that the state museums of Florence (most of the major ones - including the Uffizi, Accademia, Pitti Palace, etc.) were closed by a strike on Tuesday.
What is pretty amazing is that I can't find any English language news on this! Couldn't imaging having a reservation and showing up to find the museum closed.
