F.LIGHT - Firenze Lighting Festival

To follow up on Anthony's Florence Christmas Decorations post, last night the girls and I stumbled upon Via Tornabuoni's lighting installation. Although it's very festive and fits right in with the approaching holidays, the exhibit is actually not up for the holiday season but is part of the brief F.LIGHT event (Firenze Lighting Festival) which runs only from December 8-11.

The South end of Via Tornabuoni is lined with illuminated olive trees - each tree is set atop a circular bench, covered with shear white fabric and lit from below.

On the Arno end of Via Tornabuoni, Ponte Santa Trinita is also decked in lights for F.LIGHT. The bridge's arches are each lit from below, and the red Florentine "il giglio" is projected on the side in red.

The F.LIGHT festival has installations in many of Florence's major piazza's - we plan on checking them out before it get too rainy.
