Don't know how it slipped under my radar this year - it is usually plasetered all over town - but tomorrow (Sunday the 25th) is the Florence - Firenze Marathon. This is not a good day to be doing any driving around Florence, or most any kind of public transportation (except the train). The city is basically shut down from early in the AM until late in the afternoon. It is a great marathon though and if you are out on foot you should be sure to see some runners in the center and along the river, etc. like the character below from last year's race:
