Here is a photo from earlier this afternoon taken from the steps of Santa Croce. This is the standard Santa Croce Market (being set up), used for the Christmas fair, other food fairs, and holidays, etc. There will probably be a lot of food and beer vendors here this weekend, and it will be pretty festive I imagine for the May Day weekend.
