Most of Europe is caught in this deep freeze - and it seems a potential problem for people here in Italy is the lack of natural gas flowing from Russia (this seems to be an annual winter event). In Florence we never really got snow like we have the last couple of years, but it has been very cold. We did hear that there is a lot of snow almost everywhere else, from Rome to Milan and probably every place in between. In Gaiole my friend's dad was unreachable in a hamlet - so you can imagine how much fell in the hills and mountains.
