GUYA is great fashion boutique in the heart of Florence. They feature top designer clothing for women and men, and have been an institution in Florence since the seventies, breaking new designers and trends for over 40 years.
Still family owned and operated, they recently opened their brand new e-commerce website, where you can shop the latest from "Florence" anywhere in the world. AND they are currently offering a discount for new clients of 10%!
Follow them on Facebook and Twitter, or sign up for their newsletter for special offers.
In the never ending retail merry-go-round that is Florence, with stores moving, closing and/or opening seemingly every day, a very quick change has just taken place. The Sergio Rossi boutique that was on Via Tornabuoni has now moved right into Piazza Santa Trinita, on the ground floor of the 15th century Palazzo Buondelmonti (just outside the north side of the Ferragamo store/museum).
The new space shares the ground floor with the newish café Isabelle, making the whole ground floor of this palazzo commercial space.
The whole piazza as well as Via Tornabuoni have just been resurfaced (there is still some construction going on - but this should be done soon) - and the square has never looked better since I have been here: it is now sporting giant terra cotta pots full of flowering plants, and of course is also pedestrian only (except for taxis, etc.).
The annual German themed Christmas market is up in Piazza Santa Croce - it usually runs until about a week before Christmas. There will also be a market in Piazza Repubblica this coming weekend, Saturday and Sunday the 8th and 9th. And then there are the various weekend markets coming up in several palazzi around the city. Maybe the largest and most well know is the Mercato Nataleperfile (also this coming weekend) at Palazzo Corsini (the Nataleperfile Panetonne are one of the most famous in Florence). There you will find all sorts of hand made goods and gifts, gourmet foods, and more, all inside the very magical setting of the palazzo (they also have lunch which is usally pretty fantastic!).
There is also the AILO Christmas Bazaar which is a fundraiser, and many others. Leave a comment if you know of more.
We write about LUISAVIAROMA a lot - because it is not only one of the trendiest boutiques in Florence (if not the world) but also because they are a huge Florentine/Italian tech success story. They have one of the busiest e-commerce websites for high end fashion on the web, and everything is done right here in the heart of Florence. They just started a 50% Off Sale - so if you were thinking of treating yourself to something special for the holidays, now is your chance:
In Piazza Ruccelai, in the old American Apparel location, a Pineider shop has opened just in time for Christmas:
